The full clearance 45° option is what we generally recommend for 3 foot power trowels. However, if clearance is not an issue, and you prefer center balanced transport, the 90° option will work very well on both 3 foot and 4 foot power trowels.
If you think of the power trowel "hoop" as a clock face, The 45° mounting option places the landing gear at "7:30 and 4:30" when facing the trowel from the operators position. This option ensures that the Landing Gear is narrower than the hoop in both the stowed and transport positions eliminating any clearance concerns.
The 90° mounting option places the Landing Gear at "9 & 3 o'clock" when facing the power trowel from the operators position. While this option does provide true center balanced transport, it also adds approximately
8" to the overall width of the power trowel when in the transport position.
If you plan to install the the Concrete Landing Gear® on an MBW brand power trowel, we recommend purchasing the reinforcement brackets available on our website.
We recommend using only the 90° mounting option for 4 foot power trowels.
